Had a wonderful time at the baby shower for Robyn. They have really neat friends, most of them are very creative. They painted on oneies (I don't think that is how you spell it) and bibs. When those women got finished they looked like they could be in a museum . Some of the sayings were,"May the Force be with You" and " I spent 9 months in solitary". etc.
In the week since I last saw Robyn she has gotten lots bigger in the baby department.
Operation update:
My friend Judy Smith , the Discharge Planner who suggested a private room has offered to stay with me until about 9PM the night of the operation. I will most likely be on her floor too. She use to work at a Cancer Center.
Two other friends one a LVN and one a CNA have also offered to stay while I am in the hospital and two others said they will stay when I am home. Also brother Frank offered to come back.
I plan on taking these friends and family up on this if I need to. I hope I won't need all this help.
Also, one of my classmates from Nursing school ,Bobbi Murphy, called me from Florida to tell me she was sending me Lourdes Water. When I told Carolyn she had no idea what it was, and she went all through Catholic school.
I am so blessed with wonderful family and friends.

It's so good you have such a wonderful support system--not only family, but friends, too. As for Lourdes water, Muckie and I laughed about the things we took as gospel truth when we were in parochial school. Hey, it can't hurt to have Lourdes water--just don't drink it.
Wish I could have been at the shower. Baby Dexter will be the best turned out kid on the left coast.

Good idea to have someone with you at least the first night in the hospital when you are still groggy.

Talk about a small world...I think I knew your friend Bobbi Murphy...I knew she went to Miseri, but didn't connect with you. If this is Bobbi that I knew....I think she had a twin sister....Dick and I stayed at her Pocono house when another mutual friend got married. We all met in the Air National Guard in the 70s. If you think it's her..please tell her hello for me...with my maiden name. She was a pretty girl with dark hair....her sister would remind you of Dottie Demspey a little...what do you think?

OMG!!! It is a small world. Bobbi is the very same person you knew in the 70s. She does indeed have a twin sister, Carol who did sort of look like Dottie Dempsey.
I just read your comment and called her. She was at church but, Bill, her husband remembered you. I told him not to tell her because I want to tell her all about you. She will call me.

Yes, her sister was Carol Murphy. Carol was in charge of our unit at Willow Grove. Then we went over to Maguire with the AF reserves.
I remember Bill as well. The mutual friend we had was Kathy O'Brien (A St Mary's Hosp grad). Those were good times. Isn't that just too much.

Now did you know Mary Ann Brody who was my HN on 3rd East when I first started working at Misericordia in '62? And Barbara Fuoco another RN?

How about my favorite nun and friend Sr Mercita and of course every one knew Mother Michael.

There was a cardiologist who used to come to 3rd East when I became the HN. I thought he was kind of grumpy..Dr Horan. His son Chas worked the blood bank and went to med school. He then moved to Pensacola where I worked in the 80s and we talked about Miseri.
Young Chas became an OB/GYN at Sacred Heart where I worked.
